Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on social and academic success.

We’re always asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Straight away is always best. Speech Therapists can complete assessments and provide treatment to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives our children the best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become present throughout a child’s schooling years. We love to support school-aged children and adolescents to reach their full academic and social potential.
