Hi, we are Speech Clinic Brighton. We're a Kids' Speech Pathologist that provides services in the Brighton area. We help 0-18yo children with their speech, language, fluency, literacy and social interaction. We provide Telehealth therapy speech pathology appointments – This means children can experience speech therapy in their most natural environment, their own home.

Lauren, our Founder, is a PhD Candidate, Research Assistant and Casual Academic at UQ University.

Before working as a speech therapist, I worked as a medical researcher. I worked at the Queensland Brain Institute and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. I am currently undertaking a PhD project at The University of Queensland (UQ). This PhD project examines current clinical practices for children with traumatic brain injuries.

As a paediatric speech pathologist, I work with children exclusively. I have experience working with infants through to late-stage teens in a wide-variety of areas including – speech clarity, language impairments, complex communication and disability, reading and writing, stuttering and social communication.

Kids’ Speech Therapy in Brighton

Speech Clinic provides speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Brighton area. We advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.

We’re always asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Straight away is always best. Speech and Language Therapists can provide therapy and complete speech pathology assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives our children the best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become present throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged kids to reach their full academic and social potential.
